The Points of Light Global Network expands over 250 cities across 37 countries. These innovative volunteer-mobilizing organizations offer unique, impactful, and motivational methods for people to take action and engage in their communities. If you wish to get involved, look for a network affiliate near you. Individuals can discover volunteer opportunities, while nonprofits can post and manage event registrations in one site.
Letters Against Isolation
Expanding to serve thousands of seniors across USA, Canada, Israel, UK, and Australia, become a volunteer at Letters Against Isolation to reduce senior loneliness. Write as many cheerful and creative letters as you wish, brightening numerous days. All letters must be sent in physical form to the seniors, excluding your address, phone number, gifts, or any form of self identification.
Translators Without Borders
Are you good with languages? Do you believe that you’d be a fit translator? If so, sign up for Translators Without Borders to volunteer. TWB aims to mitigate any language barriers, especially when it comes to social issues. As a part of the team, you’d take part in small to big translating tasks which will change the lives of several people.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel
Big Brothers Big Sisters Peel was founded with the hopes of uniting young children with older youth and providing them with an effective mentor. By becoming a part of the team, you have the option to choose between different programs to which you must stay dedicated to weekly. It is a great opportunity if you’re sociable with kids and have leadership traits.
Toronto Conservation Program
The Toronto and Region Conservation program provides several short-term opportunities for students who want to help in their community’s environment. With the purpose of educating everyone about the environment, you can do anything from doing community garbage clean ups to tree planting to removing invasive species!
Learn to Be
Become an online volunteer tutor with Learn To Be, assisting unfortunate K-12 students in math, science, reading, and writing. Meet and connect with PhDs, NASA scientists, engineers, writers, and historians in the community. Visit student profile pages, find the best student for you, and finalize a set time for one-on-one lessons together.
CRISIS TEXT LINE
Crisis Responders answer texts from people in crisis through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning. Volunteers must apply, pass a vulnerable sector check, and successfully complete a 36-hour training session. A confidential workspace, computer, and secure internet connection are required.
Be My Eyes
Assist blind and low-vision individuals with everyday tasks through calls connected based on daytime timezone and language. Download the Be My Eyes app for free on a smartphone or tablet, receiving calls only from 8 AM to 9PM. When a call is answered, a live one-way video and two-way audio is established, allowing the volunteer to view what is in front of the user’s camera and provide verbal support. Possible tasks blind and low-vision individuals can ask assistance for include explaining the colour of a shirt, navigating unfamiliar surroundings, reading product labels, and more.

If you're attentive and detail orientated, look no further than By the People for your volunteer hours. As an organization that focuses on reviewing and creating transcriptions, you’ll be working with a team to successfully prepare these documents.
UpChieve
By becoming a mentor at UPchieve, you’ll tutor other students in a subject you’re comfortable with. Each student mentor will be specifically trained at UPchieve to provide the best service possible. If you have great interpersonal skills and are prepared for a challenge, be sure to join the UPchieve team to help students, just like you, to have a better shot at their future.
Brampton Library
Whether you’re a huge books fan or not, the Brampton Library has everything a volunteering opportunity can offer. From assisting in in-person and online workshops, to hosting and attending seminars and having interesting discussions about movies and books, you’re on the road for a fun ride. The schedule is quite flexible especially in accommodation to COVID-19, so if you're a busy individual, it’s perfect for you.
