CPSS Gives a Meal
For the month of October, Interact hosted a virtual fundraiser to create essential kits for homeless people in the GTA, as well as a food drive to collect non-perishable items for the CPSS Gives A Meal initiative. All food items collected will go to Knights Table, an organization that we have worked with in the past, whose mission is to serve the needs of those who are dealing with poverty and homelessness here in the Peel Region. The online fundraiser will be through the Coldest Night of the Year platform.
LTAHD: Jeopardy Event
In September of 2021, CPSS Interact aims to spread awareness about pertinent issues surrounding heart disease, and its implications in our post-lockdown society. Through a Jeopardy event, talking about CVD during the pandemic, and its widespread presence in today’s world, as well as a social media campaign allowing students to reflect on their own healthy living choices through a critical lens, the goal of this month is to encourage students to step out of their “pandemic lifestyles”, and consider transitioning to healthier post-pandemic habits.

Toasty Toes

Virtual Escape Room
The aim of facilitating the topic of Animal Cruelty for the month of February is to raise awareness on the harsh conditions and treatment some animals are put in and put through, and to try to decrease the statistics of animal cruelty occurencs. This will be completed through presentations and discussions during our weekly meetings, as well as the “Animal Cruelty Mystery”. Permitting we have permission to do an event in-person, general members and executives will get the chance to have hands-on experience to directly improve the lives of animals.
